Sugar Apple Annona

Longans are sometimes called “Dragons Eyes” because  when the peel is removed, you can see the dark seed through the translucent flesh of the fruit giving the appearance of an eye! This fruit is related to the lychee, and is often mistaken for one, but this fruit ripens after the lychee season is over and has a milder, not-as-sweet flavor. Give them a try!

Season: Late July to September, some year round
